Ann Turnbull |
Ann Turnbull was born in Hertford in 1943 and brought up in south-east London. She has always loved books and knew from the age of ten that she wanted to be a writer. She trained as a secretary and worked for eleven years before, after training to be a teacher, she did a course at college on modern children’s books. |
This historical novel tells of the love of two young people in a society that forbids their being together. Susanna Thorn is a Quaker in Restoration England, and Will Heywood a rich country gentleman, captivated and intrigued by this plain-living, independent young woman.
