Sharon Van Deusen Sperling has worked in libraries in New York, Dorset, London and Kent with brief spells in publishing and bookselling. Currently she coordinates services to children in one of the largest public library county authorities. She will be Chair of the CILIP Carnegie Kate Greenaway Award in 2005. Sharon is married and has three sons. Favourite books: Have included Little Women, Howard’s End, The Mouse and his Child, the poetry of Emily Dickinson, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and the Stephanie Plum books of Janet Evanovich.
