James Naughtie: Presenter, Today and Bookclub, BBC Radio 4
James presents the Today programme on BBC Radio 4, and is the host of Radio 4's monthly Bookclub. He also presents music programmes on BBC radio and television and writes on the arts in The Times. The recipient of several broadcasting awards, James is author of The Rivals, an account of the relationship between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, which inspired the Channel Four television drama, The Deal.
Favourite books: All kinds of fiction from Dickens to James Lee Burke, Herman Melville to PG Wodehouse. His three favourite novels are ‘probably’ Great Expectations, Moby Dick and The Great Gatsby. He also reads a great deal of biographies, especially of the political sort, but travel writing is also a passion. |
