Claire Armitstead Literary Editor, The Guardian |
Claire trained as a journalist on the South Wales Argus, and worked as a theatre critic on the Ham & High and the Financial Times. She went to The Guardian as a theatre critic, was then Arts Editor for four years, and has been Literary Editor for five years. Favourite books: “Those which give you glimpses through other people''s windows, either in other places or other times.” She particularly likes historical biographies and novels about places she’s never been to.
