2. Entries must be received by 5pm on Thursday 22 January 2004.

3. Offer only open to UK residents aged 18 years or over. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, Whitbread PLC and any of their subsidiaries and /or agencies associated with this Competition are ineligible to enter. Any such entries will be invalid.

4. No purchase necessary.

5. Only one entry per person.

6. Prize: There is one prize of two tickets to the Whitbread Book Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 27 January 2004, one night’s accommodation at the London Marriott County Hall and return travel from the winner's home in the UK to London.

7. The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable and no cash alternative will be offered.

8. The draw will be made by an independent judge.

9. The winner will be notified by 5pm on Friday 23 January 2004.

10. The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

11. The promoter reserves the right to publicise the prize winner in this Prize Draw.

12. No responsibility can be accepted for lost, delayed, incomplete, or for electronic entries of winning notifications that are not received or delivered. Any such entries will be deemed void.
