Both Sarah Hayes (aged 12) and Adam Pipe (aged 11), entered the competition run on CBBC Newsround, still one of the most popular sources for news and documentary reports for young people in the UK. Viewers were asked to submit a 200-word review of a book they’d recently enjoyed. The competition proved to be one of CBBC Newsround’s most popular competitions, attracting hundreds of entries.

Both our young judges not only participate in the judging process, but also win tickets to the exclusive Whitbread Book of the Year awards ceremony, where they will have the chance to meet lots of their favourite authors and celebrities.  Adam and Sarah will then report on the whole experience for CBBC Newsround’s Presspackers slot.
